Exploration
Ongoing exploration
Along the Hyde-Macraes Shear Zone (HMSZ), the host structure to over 5 million ounces of orogenic-style gold mined to date at Macraes (as of March 1, 2017), we have conducted detailed geological mapping, geophysical surveys (including seismic surveys, magnetic and electromagnetic surveys), geochemical surveys (including stream sediment sampling, soil sampling and trenching), remote sensing and aerial photography.
Target areas with favourable characteristics for gold mineralisation have been systematically tested, with approximately one million metres drilled to date.
Current exploration is aimed at a combination of infill and extensional drilling adjacent to the operational mining area and drill testing satellite targets along strike to the NW and SE along the HMSZ. With a significant resource defined at the Round Hill Project, exploration is focused on growing this resource base and identifying higher grade zones, following encouraging drill results at the Golden Point target.
You will find updates and detailed exploration results on our news releases page.
