Creating a caring, inclusive and winning culture is central to realising our Purpose at OceanaGold.
Last year we launched a new culture program – Living Our Values – to recognise and celebrate the people that exemplify our Values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance and Teamwork.
From more than 200 nominations across the Company, 10 employees from our four mines were announced as winners and runners-up of the inaugural awards, acknowledging their individual contributions to the operations and teams they are part of.
Each winner received a specially-minted 99.9% pure gold 1 oz coin, presented in a custom-made box crafted from repurposed Kauri – a New Zealand timber salvaged from the original Martha mine in Waihi.
President and CEO Gerard Bond was able to present the winners with their award in person.
He said: “Our Values are integral to building a winning culture and achieving our Vision to be a Company people trust, want to work and partner with, supply and invest in, to create value.
“These awards recognize remarkable achievements that demonstrate a commitment to people, communities and our Company – the winners and runners-up are the very best examples of our people living our Values.
“This program is demonstrative of what we can collectively achieve at OceanaGold as we focus on strengthening our culture as a core pillar of our Company Strategy.”
