Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Draftsperson (Electrical) for a 2‑year fixed term contract, to prepare accurate and detailed technical electrical drawings and plans and ensure that all drawings comply with project requirements, OceanaGold standards and applicable codes and regulations. This role reports to the Superintendent – Project Development.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing weekly Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) and/​or Task Observations with peers from the Project Execution and Construction teams.
  • Develop 2D and 3D drawings for electrical works using CAD software.
  • Convert conceptual designs and sketches into detailed construction drawings.
  • Check drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission.
  • Maintain a revision log and ensure proper version control of all engineering drawings.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to govern the preparation of engineering drawings

Qualifications

  • Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
  • Amenable to 2‑year fixed term contract

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in engineering drafting or project delivery.
  • Planning exposure on previous projects.


Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licenses

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical related field.

People skills:

  • Abiiity to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to think analytically.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Adherence to confidentiality requirements

Technical Skills

  • Advanced CAD skills.
  • Intermediate user of MS office suite.
  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of construction methods, processes, sequencing and technical standards
