Management of Hazardous Materials

Effective management of hazardous materials is essential to protecting the environment, our workforce and nearby communities. Substances such as cyanide and heavy metals require strong controls to prevent potential harm and ensure safe and responsible use.

All our operating sites maintain and implement hazardous materials and chemical management plans. Each site, except for Didipio Mine which does not use cyanide in its processing, also applies a site-specific Cyanide Management Plan that meets regulatory requirements and aligns with the principles of the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC). The ICMC sets out industry best practices for the safe handling, transport, storage and use of cyanide to help safeguard people and the environment.
