Our Underground Macraes team are on the search for an All Rounder Operator. If you have experience across the below requirements and are keen to build upon your mining career at New Zealand’s largest gold mine, apply today.
This role will work to safely operate a variety of underground heavy machinery for the purposes of providing multi-skilled support to the Underground Production Team. At all times you will display a high degree professionalism, and quality of work to ensure that cost effective productivity is delivered.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate competently at productive levels in the roles of; Development Charge, Production Charge & Remote Loader.
- Able to operate under supervision; Production Drill, Cable Bolter, Jumbo Drill & Spraymec Unit.
- Communicate early with trucking and bogging fleet to ensure remoting rarely stops
- Seek productivity and safety improvements in stope bogging, such as maximising of fibre
- Remotely, via tele-remote, transport ore material from stopes to ore passes and stock piles
- Loading out development headings and performing clean-ups as per standard and transporting material to stockpiles and trucks
- Efficient reporting and record keeping, collating accurate daily information and ensuring all machinery documentation is completed
- Ensure damage is kept to a minimum and reported immediately.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand
- Full and current drivers’ licence, and competent driving manual vehicles
- Competent across Development Charge, Production Charge and Remote Loader operator requirements
- Service Crew Ticket preferred
- Water Down, Scaling Ticket preferred
- Current Certified / Approved Handlers Certificate preferred
- Controlled Substance License preferred
- First Aid Certificate
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years underground metalliferous mining experience in development and production techniques
- An excellent safety record
- Mentoring, coaching and training experience would be an advantage
- Being deemed competent on any of the following would be an advantage; Jumbo Drill, Production Drill, Cable Bolter & Spraymec Unit.
