Job Description
OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Senior Specialist – Maintenance (UG Equipment – Mobile/Auto Electrician) to safely manage the maintenance of all underground mobile equipment. The role will report to the Superintendent – Maintenance (Mobile/Underground).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure all work orders are completed and filled out correctly and rectify if not
- Ensure compliance with site and workshop standards relating to isolations and correct use of tags
- Liaise before each shift with supervisors and leading hands to obtain all the necessary information about the work areas/tasks
- Work with supervisors and lead hands with PRONTO to ensure correct entered work order, CCD parts ordering allocation
- Assist and coach supervisors and technicians to carry out mechanical repair, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, fault finding, and maintain plant and mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and cost targets and to solve unplanned equipment unavailability events
- Assist and coach supervisors and technicians to conduct mobile and plant equipment upgrades/modifications as required and to complete auto mine levels setups, mapping of drives and compiling reports
- Carry out operator and maintenance personnel training
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
- Licensed Engineer is an advantage
- With work experience in motor vehicle (Mechanic and Electrical) and Sandvik L&H Automation
- Minimum of ten (10) years of working experience in underground mobile equipment maintenance or related industry with exposure to Sandvik mechanized mining equipment, auto electrical, automation maintenance, and repairs
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on mobile machinery with the ability to diagnose faults and rectify them in a time-efficient manner
- With a valid Professional Driver’s license
- Preferably with Sandvik training certification in Electrical and Automation
