Job Description

This is a hands-on trade skills role providing general labouring support for the construction of underground support services and infrastructure.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide trades assistance to the Supervisor — Construction across a range of construction projects related to the Golden Point Underground Mine, and to ensure construction and mine services installation work is completed safely, to a high standard and in a timely fashion.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Safety, quality, health and environmental plans are adhered to and managed effectively when required.
  • Responsible for environmental protection measures required on the job are effectively implemented and maintained
  • Work with the Supervisor to ensure all works are completed to a high standard and where required, in such a fashion that they are readily maintainable
  • Support the Supervisor through provision of underground specific mining knowledge and experience with a services and construction focus
  • Safe operation of integrated tool carrier in the underground and surface environment.
  • Provide knowledge and capability specific to underground services installation, maintenance and support
  • Operate the Komatsu agitator truck and batch plant to provide structural concrete for pads, footings and other construction projects.
  • Undertake minor construction, logistics activities and machine operation.
  • Support project construction activities through execution of minor works such as pad and formwork preparation for pads and plinths, or other infrastructure not specifically assigned to a contractor
  • Assist with minor logistics activities such as the movement of materials from stores and laydowns, including the operation of integrated tool carriers and HiAB trucks or escort of those vehicles as required.
  • Perform minor earth works using integrated tool carrier with bucket.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in carpentry/​construction
  • Full and current Drivers Licence, competent driving manual vehicles
  • IT, Agitator Truck and Batch Plant Operation
  • Practical experience in the construction trade
