Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
The Manager — Exploration (Philippines) is in-charge of overseeing the exploration activities of the Didipio Mine. It is responsible for discovering additional gold-copper resources in the Companies’ Philippine exploration licenses and implementation of exploration permits. Also, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending for acquisition of gold opportunities throughout the Company’s exploration permit.
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategies to optimize exploration tenement management, streamline processes, and reduce administrative burdens
- Provides expert guidance and support in the preparation and submission of exploration plans, reports, and compliance documentation
- Develops a strategic position of leadership among one or more external networks to maximize OGPI’s influence

- Provides strategic leadership and direction in resource assessment projects, collaborating with
- stakeholders to develop long-term resource management strategies and plans.
- Represents the organization as a subject matter expert in resource assessment, conduct workshops and training to team members
- Leads the planning and resource allocation activities to ensure the availability of resources
- Reviews the analysis and recommendations and checks for soundness, feasibility, and potential impact to operations before providing a final recommendation
- Defines the overall budgeting strategy, incorporating innovative financial approaches and advanced forecasting

Qualifications

Educational Background:
- Registered Geologist
- Postgraduate qualification highly regarded
Work Experience and Background:
- 10 years’ experience in Mining industry
- Experience in gold and copper-gold exploration required with significant experience in Porphyry copper-gold and LS and HS epithermal gold mineralisation
- Experience with the application and interpretation of geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling exploration techniques
- Exposure to a variety of commodity types, exploration techniques, mining methods, and operational environments
- Understanding of resource estimation methodology and geostatistics
