Job Description
OceanaGold New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for a Data & Analytics Coordinator to join the team. If you’re able to not only problem-solve from a technical perspective, but step back, connect the dots, and translate data or system issues into something meaningful and actionable for the business, breaking down technical details to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, we want to hear from you!
This position can be based out of either our Waihi (North Island) or Dunedin (South Island) offices, working Monday — Friday 7am — 4:30pm, with every 2nd Friday off.
Reporting to the Data & Analytics Business Partner, this role will work to provide operational and administrative support for People & Culture (P&C) systems — ensuring data accuracy, system functionality, and efficient delivery of P&C processes. Additionally, this role supports the maintenance, coordination, and day-to-day use of P&C systems, assisting the team with data, reporting, and system-related activities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day administration of People & Culture systems.
- Maintain employee data, organisational structures, and system records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Act as a first point of contact for basic system queries, escalating more complex issues as required.
- Support troubleshooting activities in partnership with IT and P&C specialists.
- Assist with routine system checks, audits, and data validation activities.
- Perform basic QA/QC checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying minor system or process enhancement opportunities.
- Assist with the implementation of system updates, enhancements, and changes.
- Maintain process documentation, user guides, and system instructions.
- Run scheduled and ad hoc reports using P&C systems and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Support the preparation of dashboards and reports.
- Provide basic guidance to users on P&C systems and processes.
- Support the delivery of training sessions and training materials.
- Assist in the development of user guides and FAQs.
- Maintain accurate P&C data and training records, ensuring integrity, timely updates, quality checks, and reliable reporting to support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in IT, HR, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- As a minimum, NCEA Level 3 in Maths and English.
- Full and current driver licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
Skills & Experience
- 3 – 5 years experience in administration, accounting, information technology, or systems coordination is essential.
- Experience working with systems, databases, or spreadsheets is essential.
- Experience with Power BI will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to SQL and/or DAX would be beneficial.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word, are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyse data sets.
