Keenan Jennings, Chief Exploration Officer

Keenan joined OceanaGold in September 2025 as Chief Exploration Officer. He is responsible for exploration and geology across the Company and Chairs the Resources and Reserves Steering Committee.

Keenan is a deeply experienced geologist with 35 years of global exploration and commercial success. He has held several executive roles with BHP, Rio Tinto, and Anglo American. Keenan began his career in Australia before moving to Latin America and then London to take up a corporate leadership role in Anglo American’s head office. He was most recently VP Metals Exploration for BHP, based in Toronto, Canada, where he led a team of 140 people and was accountable for designing and implementing the long-term global strategy for BHP exploration. 

Originally from New Zealand, Keenan is a graduate from the University of Auckland (Master of Science) and Deakin University (MBA). 

He is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, and a member of the Australian Institute of Directors.
