Elizabeth Thampy, General Counsel and Company Secretary

Elizabeth was appointed EVP, General Counsel & Company Secretary in April 2026. 

With two decades of experience as a corporate attorney, Elizabeth brings a wealth of industry knowledge and a strong track record in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), securities law, corporate governance, and risk management. Prior to joining OceanaGold, she was in house counsel at other similar sized gold mining companies — B2Gold and Endeavour Mining. She spent the first seven years of her legal career at Stikeman Elliott LLP.

Elizabeth holds a JD from the University of Windsor and a BA from the University of British Columbia. She recently received the Canadian Bar Association’s Certified In-House Counsel designation from the Rotman School of Management. Elizabeth is admitted to the New York Bar and the British Columbia Bar.
