3-AD006.00 ENGAGEMENT OUTCOMES PROPOSED WAIHI NORTH PROJECT OceanaGold New Zealand Limited WSP April 2022 28 6 BUSINESS INTERCEPT SURVEY A business intercept survey was designed to gather data to support the Social Impact Assessment being undertaken for the proposed Waihi North Project. This survey was designed to understand the potential impacts of the proposed Waihi North Project on local businesses. This survey was an in-person survey that involved interviewers visiting identified business in the following six locations:  Waihi  Waihi Beach  Te Aroha  Katikati  Paeroa  Whangamatā. A total of 81 businesses were selected, averaging 13 per location, to take part in the survey. To create this group of 81 businesses, first a potential pool of was created by identifying all businesses that appeared on, or very close to, the main road route through each location’s main centre. These were then sorted into ANZSIC06 industrial classifications based on their business name or business description as reported on the web.
