WSP 7 3 DEMOGRAPHICS 3.1 POPULATION BY AGE GROUP 3.1.1 REGIONAL, LOCAL AND WAIHI TOWN The median age (using Statistical Area 2 units) in Waihi Town and the Local area was 49.6 years in 2018 (Table 3-1). In the Waikato and Bay of Plenty (BoP) Regions the median age was 37.4 and 40.2 years respectively1.
