In practice, mobile lighting plant, such as that used on other sites by OGNZL (Reference Figure 6), is typically designed to flood an area with light, with minimal consideration of potentially obtrusive effects. In these situations, mitigation measures could rely on careful plant location and luminaire aiming (i.e. into the site) and by undertaking works in potentially sensitive locations during daylight hours. Such management could be included in the procedures for the use of mobile lighting plant. Works in locations where lighting could produce obtrusive effects would ideally be undertaken during daylight hours, hence eliminating potential effects.
