Grout Pumping and Injection Operations TR 003 the pump pressure (increases in pump pressure will indicate closure and confinement of the problem area). 4.2. Reporting Make sure problems are reported to the Supervisor if necessary and/or written on the relevant documentation i.e. FRM- Pressure Grouting Report. 5. HOUSEKEEPING AND CLEANING THE PLANT 5.1. Cleaning and Maintaining the Plant This is the most important part of grouting operations; a well maintained plant will ensure effective and reliable grouting operations. The following lists must be adhered to at all times: ▪ Prior to commencing grouting works, the plant should be coated with a light oil to help prevent grout sticking to paintwork. ▪ Always clean plant during grouting works – continually wash down with water and use scrapers and rags to avoid build-up of grout on the plant. 5.1.1 Mixer ▪ Use high pressure hose to wash down inside of drum. Use scrapers as necessary. ▪ Fill mixer with clean water and run the mixer for several minutes to completely flush the system. Disconnect the mixer discharge hose from the Agitator tank and discharge dirty water to ground. Repeat flushing process until water remains clean through the mixer. ▪ Fill mixer with at least 50 litres of clean water and about 500ml of oil, run the mixer then transfer the oil water mix into the agitator tank and run through the pump and hoses. ▪ Wash down all external surfaces. 5.1.2 Agitator Tank ▪ Use high pressure hose to wash down inside of drum. Use scrapers as necessary. ▪ Place fresh water into the agitator tank (or use fresh water from the mixer and discharge into the agitator tank).
