Grout Pumping and Injection Operations TR 003 2.1. Batching For grouting, the following “recipes” will be used for all hand batching. The quantities for all components of Water/Binder (W/B) Ratios are based on a 20kg bag of cement; therefore the corresponding components for each W/B Ratio must be increased for each 20 kg cement bag added to a mix. Generally Microfine 20 (MF) cement will be used if the water flow is less than (<) 200 litres/min from a hole. HE cement grout will be used if the water flow is greater than (>) 200 litre/min from a hole. If bulk filling is required for large voids (greater than 500mm), the following “recipes” detailed in the chart below, using GP cement, may be used. Higher W/B ratio mixes may be more appropriate in some circumstances. If a higher W/B Ratio is required, inform your supervisor and seek approval for additional mixes. Authorised and dated grout mix batch cards shall be used at the grout plant for all manually mixed grout. The following is an example of a grout mix batch card; note the date and authorisation box in the top right hand corner.
