Grout Pumping and Injection Operations TR 003 1.4.5 Pre-set Maximum (also known as refusal) Grouting Pressure (high pressure setting) Maximum grouting pressure is also known as ‘refusal’, it is the high pressure setting on the pump. For this to take place, ensure the pump flow regulation valve is closed (no pump movement) by rotating it fully in a clockwise direction. The below is the series of steps to follow to pre-set refusal: ▪ Close the grout pump recirculation valve so both discharge and recirculation valves are closed (off). ▪ Turn the Pump operation lever in the “high pressure” position. ▪ Rotate the Pump flow control 1 – 2 turns anticlockwise.
