Grout Pumping and Injection Operations TR 003 ▪ Oil Cooler setting – open the oil cooler valve until water flow through cooler is approximately 3 – 6 litres per minute. This is designed to maintain oil temperature in the normal operating range 50 -70°C. Flow can be checked by visual inspection of the water discharge tube. ▪ Piston Rod flushing – there is a valve situated above the Grout Pump piston rod. Open this valve until there is constant flow of water onto the piston rod; just enough to keep it clean and maximize life of the seals. This also keeps the heat down on the drive side of the pump. 1.4.4 Checks: ▪ Start the electric motor that powers the hydraulics by pressing the Green button on the power box. On first time power-up on new site, electrician must check the rotation of the motor (clockwise).
