Supporting Technical Assessments

 8 aquifer zones were identified based on hydrograph response and structure analysis.  Aquifer zone 5 showed the highest hydraulic conductivity and was the location of all past major water intersects.  Targeted dewatering of zone 5 allowed to significantly drop the water pressure at the main development heading (2500 kPa700kPa in 2 months).  Drilling through valved standpipes mitigated the risk of uncontrolled water inflows through drill holes.  Dewatering and optimization of standpiping and grouting methods has allowed a sequential reduction in the cycle time for development through high water risk areas.
