Oceana Gold New Zeland Limited Hydrogeology Support for WKP Underground Updated Conceptual Model Figure 4-7 Conceptualization of potential flow barriers However, notwithstanding the possibility of flow barriers, two conditions encountered during testing suggest that the shallow western zone is unsaturated. The first is the exceptional amount of water losses in this vein system during drilling of exploration bores, despite the low permeabilities indicated by hydraulic testing (Figure 4-8). The second is that two test intervals in this zone report water levels at the transducer level (no water column above the sensor). In either case whether there are flow barriers, or an unsaturated zone, or both it is clear that shallow groundwater west of this vein system is hydraulically disconnected from the EG vein aquifer. Right - unsaturated test intervals Hole WKP-105 has been drilled from the same pad that has drilled WKP-101 and WKP-103, but at a more southerly azimuth of 148o and a dip of 42 degrees. A total of five (5) hydraulic tests were completed in WKP-105.
