Supporting Technical Assessments

| Project Description | WNP Wharekirauponga Underground Mine - Assessment of Effects of Discharges to Air | 4397169-66885702-23 | | 16 2.2.7 Tunnel ventilation system The tunnel ventilation system has been designed to supply sufficient air for safe and efficient underground mine operation in line with New Zealand regulatory requirements including diesel exhaust dilution rates, airflows, velocities and dust. 2.2.8 Ventilation raises The project will comprise up to 5 ventilation raises (one potentially serving as an egress shaft which will have nominal diameters of up to 5.5m. The initial raise will be located on OGNZL - owned land, just south of the property boundary between Willows Farm Road and the CFP as shown on Figure 2-4. A short above-ground exhaust stack (see Figure 2-5) will be installed. The remaining shafts will likely be located on a section of legal road reserve within the Forest Park as indicated on Figure 2-4. The exact surface location of each raise will be determined by detailed site investigations to ensure the minimisation of effects on flora and fauna and geotechnical suitability. Construction will initially require disturbance of one site of approximately 20 m x 20 m for investigation purposes below with the final surface expression being approximately 10 m x 10 m for each site.
