The monthly average rainfall measured at Waihi is shown in Figure 5-5 and the average number of ‘raindays’ measured at Waihi is shown in Figure 5-6. A ‘rain day’ is defined as a day when at least 1 mm of rain is recorded. During these days, the exposed surfaces would be expected to remain moist and therefore have lower dust generation potential.
