Supporting Technical Assessments

| Project Description | Waihi North Project Air Discharge Assessment - Waihi Surface Facilities | 4396626-1331619777-99 | 16/06/2022 | 15 The proposed changes to the Processing Plant include: ● The current mobile and small jaw crushers used to crush ore before it is fed into the SAG Mill will be replaced with a more efficient modular primary crusher sourced from the Reefton Mine ● A new pebble crusher will be installed to the north of the new primary crusher ● The existing SAG Mill, which has recently been upgraded with a new shell and ends, will be converted to a Ball Mill ● In order to meet the future milling demand, an additional SAG Mill will be relocated from Reefton and installed at the plant. The new SAG Mill will be installed in the open and will be located at the current location of the pebble crusher ● A new Ball Mill will be established adjacent to the SAG Mill ● The existing 17 m diameter thickener will be replaced by a larger 26 m diameter thickener ● Three additional 1,500m3 CIL (“carbon-in-leach”) leach tanks will be installed (6 leach tanks are currently in operation at the site) ● A mercury retort oven and mercury vapour analyser will be installed in the gold room. To accommodate the new and replacement infrastructure, the layout of the plant will be rearranged, and some stockpiles may need to be relocated. The revised layout of the Processing Plant is shown in Figure 2-7. The Processing Plant will continue to operate 24 hours per day and seven days per week For information regarding the processes used and the discharges to air from the existing consented Processing Plant refer to air discharge assessment prepared in support of application the Golden Link Project6 and Section 3.6 of this report. 6 Rolfe K “Newmont Waihi Gold: Air Quality Implications of Underground Mining in the Golden Link Project Area” March 2012.
