CCCS Critical Control Check Sheet Critical Controls A critical control is a control that will have the greatest impact on preventing the risk(s) relating to the principal hazard from occurring, or if the risk was to occur the critical control would provide the greatest mitigation of the potential consequences. Danger Zone An area in which a person may be injured or machinery may sustain damage as a result of shot firing activities. Detonator A detonator is a device used to trigger an explosive device.
