Technical Memorandum To Cassie Craig Copy From Lennie Palmer Office WSP Tauranga Office Date 15 January 2021 File 3-53501.00 Subject OGL – Wharekirauponga Radon sampling/gauging programme: 14-16 December 2020 Overview To better understand the groundwater-surface water interaction in the Wharekirauponga Stream (WKP) region, Oceana Gold (OGL) completed an extensive water sampling and flow measurement program over 14-16 December 2020. The field program was broken up into three sub-regions for each of the first two days, with a field team assigned to each region. On the third day (16 December) 1 field team was required to visit sites not previously visited. Figure 1 provides the location and the approximate “daily” sub-regions. For each location the field teams were to collect water samples for (regular) laboratory analysist, water samples for radon tests, and to measure flow. This memo summarises the flow assessments undertaken for each of the locations. Flow gaugings WSP and hydro Logic were responsible for flow measurements, the locations and dates of sites visited are provided in Table 1. Flow measurements were conducted either by; wading rod gauging using either a Flow Tracker (ADV1) or small Ott2 mechanical flow meter; volumetrically measured using a bucket, or the flow was estimated. Only the flows that could not be measured by wading gauging or volumetrically, were estimated. WSP and Hydro Logic were accompanied by at least three OGL staff to each location, who were responsible for water and radon samples, logistics, H&S and site location/directions. Table 1.
