2 Tonkin & Taylor Ltd Hazardous Substances Technical Assessment – Waihi North Project - Waihi Processing Plant, Water Treatment Plant and Development Site Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited June 2022 Job No: 1015212.1000 vRev0  A temporary rock stack at Willows Road (“Willows Rock Stack”) for the WUG mine and the Northern Rock Stock near the existing tailings storage facility and Processing Plant.  A new tailings storage facility named TSF3.  An upgrade to the existing Processing Plant to increase throughput capacity.  An upgrade to the existing Water Treatment Plant.  Establishment of a new Class 1 explosives storage facility at the area of OGNZL’s landholding known as the “Development Site”, north of the current tailings storage areas. Project Martha (including mining of the Martha Open Pit 4) will continue to be operated in parallel with the WNP, hence, OGNZL’s requirement to upgrade the throughput capacity of the existing Processing Plant and increase storage of explosives. (Source OGNZL) This assessment addresses the hazardous substances aspects of the upgrades to the existing Ore Processing Plant and Water Treatment Plant, as well as the establishment of a new explosives storage facility in Waihi. 1.3 Assessment approach and background documents This hazardous substances risk assessment has been prepared to support an application for resource consent under the Resource Management Act for the proposed industrial activities on OGNZLs
