Supporting Technical Assessments

June 2022 G-01483.84-017-R-Rev0 Because the 46 7.5.5 Energy Dissipation Energy dissipation and erosion protection will be provided at the following locations: ▪ Culvert outlets ▪ Changes in flow classification (Super critical to sub critical) ▪ In channel sections too steep for conventional channel linings ▪ At outfalls into existing channels Areas where energy dissipation is likely to be required are presented in Figure 16. All energy dissipation will be designed in general accordance with chapter 9 of WRC, 2020. 7.6 Site Surface Infrastructure 7.6.1 Surface Elements Overview OGNZL provided a plan (Beca 2021) of the proposed surface infrastructure elements to support the Waihi North Project that included: ▪ Site access and roads ▪ Initial and future administration office, crib room, stores and change house ▪ First aid room, switch room and gatehouse (remotely monitored) ▪ Small equipment service workshop and wash down bay ▪ Laydown area for storage of tunnelling consumables such as poly pipe, vent bag and rock bolts/mesh ▪ SFA sumps, drainage channels and ponds; including retention pond 2 ▪ Topsoil stockpile ▪ Mine water and air supply (compressor) ▪ Car park ▪ Explosives magazines ▪ Ventilation fan/s located just outside the mine portal mounted on top of a sea container or similar (until such time as the first ventilation shaft is constructed); and ▪ Electrical substation pad and power supply ▪ Diesel fuel container and re-fueling facilities 7.6.2 Mine Industrial Area The site of the SFA has plan dimensions of about 200 m x 300 m and is located on the south side of the Mataura Stream about 400 m south-east of the WRS (Figure 17). The site incorporates gently sloping paddocks and terraces of the Mataura Stream. The site rises to hill slopes on the south-west side and will incorporate cuts of up to about 7 m into the existing ground on this side and fill up to about 5 m thickness placed on the lower, north-eastern side, to create a level platform. [Note, this section needs to be reviewed once current cross sections are available from Beca.]
