Proposed Resource Consent Conditions

44 #D (Trib R) S37.293385 E175.824654 #E Thompson S37.288942 E175.833283 c. Information obtained from piezometers suitably installed in zones of potential impact to obtain baseline data on groundwater conditions, hydrogeological and hydrological parameters including information on: i. Water levels; ii. Field parameters, including: pH, temperature and electrical conductivity; and iii. Water chemistry. d. Hydraulic testing to define the hydraulic conductivity of groundwater through the aquifer, including the use of: i. Borehole hydraulic testing; and ii. Infiltration tests at dedicated near-stream locations. 11 The consent holder shall undertake the monitoring and data, analysis in accordance with the Baseline Data Collection Plan. The monitoring, and analysis shall be undertaken by a person or persons with appropriate knowledge and expertise in hydrology and hydrogeology. Mine Area Groundwater Management 12 When undertaking mining activities in the Mine Area the Consent Holder shall control groundwater ingress into the area being mined in a manner which ensures compliance with Condition 5 by, as a minimum: a. Installation of monitoring instruments and hydraulic testing in zones of potential impact in advance of mining occurring in those locations that could have an impact on groundwater (including use of instruments installed prior to or as part of work required by the Baseline Data Collection Plan); b. Where necessary, undertaking pre-development grouting and depressurisation of the upper sections of stopes or other zones of groundwater connectivity before mining; c. Assembling and adhering to suitable Trigger Action Response Plans during pre-development grouting activities so that methods of mitigation to control groundwater ingress occurrences are suitably adapted to address any deviations from expected conditions; d. Implementing dewatering measures, drainage and depressurisation in mine areas only when pathways are sufficiently sealed; e. Assembling and adhering to suitable Trigger Action Response Plans during mining so that methods of mitigation to control groundwater ingress occurrences are suitably adapted to address These are the key principles identified in the Valenza Conceptual Model report to manage groundwater ingress. The Mine Area Groundwater Management Strategy required by Condition 13 will describe how these principles will be implemented to achieve Condition 5.
