Proposed Resource Consent Conditions

Boffa Miskell Ltd | Waihi North Project | Wharekirauponga Fencing Plan | 23 June 2022 1 1.0 Purpose and Scope This report provides guidance on the installation and material specifications of temporary and long-term wildlife exclusion fences required as part of the Waihi North Project (WNP). Wildlife exclusion fencing is required to prevent wildlife (native frog, lizard and invertebrate) access into drill and ventilation raise sites in the Wharekirauponga area of Coromandel Forest Park. This report provides additional detail to accompany the proposed WNP land use consent conditions. This report also details the maintenance standards and record keeping to ensure that wildlife fences are built and maintained to the required standard and to ensure compliance with the proposed controls and conditions for the WNP (Part E of the Assessment of Environmental Effects, (Mitchell Daysh, 2022)). 2.0 Temporary Fencing 2.1 Determining a site to fence Temporary fencing is required around proposed drill (exploration) and construction sites for the duration of drilling and evase construction. Sites will be fenced once all ecological surveys have been completed to the satisfaction of approved ecologist and in compliance with the WNP land use consent conditions. Upon identifying a site that could be used (subject to DOC approval and HDC consents), a temporary wildlife exclusion fence will be constructed within 5 days of the last ecological survey. The fence will be constructed in the manner prescribed below, giving at least 6m clearance to any native frog locations identified in the survey. 2.2 Fencing materials Construction of a temporary fence requires the following materials: • Untreated stakes approximately 1.2m in length • Sheer polythene approximately 1.5m wide and long enough to fence the complete site. • Securing cleats & U pegs • Mallet Ensure all material is new and free of dirt to comply with the Kauri Dieback Management Plan. All rubbish is to be flown out for disposal.
