4 Condition Explanation x. The establishment and use of a new portal for the Wharekirauponga Access Tunnel; xi. Surface mining Gladstone Open Pit (including drilling and blasting); xii. The hauling and/or conveying of rock and ore from Gladstone Open Pit to the Polishing Pond Stockpile for temporary storage, or to the Northern Rock Stack or Tailings Storage Facility 3 for disposal; xiv. The transport of ore from Gladstone Open Pit to the Processing Plant; xv. The temporary stockpiling of limestone; xvi. Partial backfilling and lining of Gladstone Open Pit in preparation for tailings disposal; xvii. The disposal of tailings within Gladstone Open Pit Tailings Storage Facility; xviii. Capping of the Gladstone Open Pit Tailings Storage Facility with rock and soil, and undertaking rehabilitation activities; xix. The establishment and operation of new carparking facilities; xx. Relocation of the existing overhead power line; xxi. The upgrade and operation of the Processing Plant to process up to 2.25 million tonnes of ore per annum; xxii. The upgrade and operation of the Water Treatment Plant; xxiii. The continued use of other existing facilities and infrastructure within the Waihi Surface Facilities Area, including the maintenance workshop, store, office and amenity facilities; xxiv. The continued use of existing stockpiles within the Waihi Surface Facilities Area, including the Run of Mine Stockpile, Favona Stockpile and Polishing Pond Stockpile; xxv. Mitigation planting / biodiversity enhancement; xxvi. Erection of internal signs to provide directions, safety instructions and information for staff and visitors within the site; xxvii. The use and storage of hazardous substances; xxviii. The disturbance of soil and change of the land use at a HAIL site; and xxix. Rehabilitation and closure activities. g. Within Area 6: i. Installation of security fencing; ii. Vegetation clearance and stripping topsoil and subsoil from the Northern Rock Stack footprint, including several unnamed stream beds; iii. The establishment and use of soil stockpiles; iv. Removal or relocation of existing structures, including an OGNZL owned dwelling, workshop structures, a fuel bowser and grease storage facilities;
