1 Hauraki District Council – OceanaGold (New Zealand) Limited – Land Use Consent Conditions Condition Explanation 1 For the purposes of these consents: a. The Biodiversity Project Area and Areas, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 mean the areas identified on Plans BP1, WNP1, WNP2, WNP3, WNP4, WNP5, WNP6 and WNP7 annexed as Attachment 1 to this consent b. Mine site means Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 on Plans WNP1, WNP2, WNP3, WNP4, WNP5, WNP6 and WNP7 annexed as Attachment 1 to this consent. c. Mine activities mean the activities listed in Condition 2 (b) – (i). 2 The activities authorised by this consent may include, but not be limited to, those listed below. Activities not listed may only be carried out if they are directly related to, and form part of, the Waihi North Project as described in Assessment of Environmental Effects (23 June 2022) and supporting technical documents submitted by OceanaGold New Zealand Limited to the Hauraki District Council in support of its resource consent applications for the Waihi North Project under the Resource Management Act 1991 (“Act”), a. Within the Biodiversity Project Area: i. Management activities for the purposes of undertaking pest control and habitat enhancement works as part of the Waihi North Biodiversity Project; and ii. Management activities for the purposes of undertaking pest control and habitat enhancement works as part of offsetting potential effects on Archey’s frog. b. Within Area 1: i. The clearance of indigenous vegetation within a Significant Natural Area (SNA) for the establishment of up to four ventilation shafts within Area 1; and ii. Exploration, mining operations and underground mining, including: iii. Establishment of tunnels to the Wharekirauponga orebody (Wharekirauponga Mine Dual Tunnel); iv. Establishment of up to four ventilation shafts and associated vent stacks, including temporary drilling pads, and onsite construction amenities; v. Exploration drilling from underground drilling platforms; vi. Establishment of mine access tunnels; vii. Development, stoping and mining of the orebody;
