Proposed Resource Consent Conditions

134 12 Within three months of the exercise of this consent the Consent Holder must submit to the Waikato Regional Council a Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan for certification that: a. Includes performance measures, triggers, actions, methods and monitoring programmes designed to achieve the objective in Condition 13; and b. As a minimum meets the information requirements in and gives effect to the matters set out in Condition 14. The Consent Holder may comply with Conditions 12 - 16 by incorporating the Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan into an overarching monitoring and / or management Plan which covers the Consent Holders various rock and tailings storage facilities. 13 The objective of the Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan is to monitor and assess the effects of rock storage facilities within the Waihi SFA on shallow groundwater resources and to trigger the implementation of contingency measures where necessary to ensure the conditions of this consent are achieved. 14 The Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan must include, at minimum: a. The details of the shallow piezometers installed in accordance with Condition 8; b. Details of the scan monitoring of groundwater quality for pH and conductivity in accordance with Condition 9; c. The trigger levels for pH and conductivity which are set in accordance with Condition 10; and d. A contingency plan to be actioned in the event a trigger level is exceeded over two consecutive readings, and which is sufficient to assess the source of the change, and to determine what, if any, mitigation measures should be implemented to ensure that General Condition G33 is complied with. In detailing the monitoring programmes the Consent Holder shall provide information on the monitoring methods proposed, the monitoring locations, parameters to be monitored, and the calibration and maintenance of monitoring equipment. 15 The Consent Holder shall review and update (as necessary) the Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan and shall provide the updated Plan to the Waikato Regional Council for certification in accordance with Condition 12. 16 The Consent Holder must implement the certified Waihi SFA Rock Storage Monitoring and Management Plan. However, in the event of any inconsistency between the conditions of this consent and the Willows
