Should a significant difference be recorded during this further monitoring the Consent Holder shall inform the Waikato Regional Council and shall determine any mitigation measures that need to be implemented to ensure that significant effects are remedied or mitigated. ‘Significant’ is defined as follows: a. A significant difference in macroinvertebrate biota will be deemed to have occurred following a statistically significant change at test sites B and DPD of 30% above the natural variation recorded at the control sites A and UPD; b. A significant difference in total macroinvertebrate abundance will be deemed to have occurred following a statistically significant change at test sites B and DPD of 50% above the natural variation recorded at the control sites A and UPD.
