Site-specific Assessments of Environmental Effects

B-1 - Area 1, Coromandel Forest Park – Assessment of Environmental Effects 50 3.2.10 Hours of Work 3.2.10.1 Tunnelling and Exploration Development of the Tunnel System will progress 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. A typical tunnelling and exploration working week would consist of: Up to 20 firings of approximately 4m in length each (fire multiple headings at the same time); 10 return trips (average) per day from the development face in the tunnel to the surface rock stockpile (in accordance to the noise constraints); Deliveries of consumables and equipment; and Fuel deliveries twice daily to surface and underground tanks. Exploration would proceed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on completion of the exploration platforms. 3.2.10.2 Mining Based on the current understanding of the resource, mining of ore is expected to continue for a period of between 6 to 10 years following commencement. Underground mining, ore transport and rock return will be carried out 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including equipment maintenance underground. A typical mining working week would consist of: Firing will occur at any time and could occur several times a day. Firing may occur in up to three stoping areas and may occur simultaneously. Trucks hauling rock to and from the WRS; and, Daily deliveries to underground stores from surface laydown/stores. 3.2.10.3 Mining Equipment The WUG will require a range of mining equipment during its operating life (and the number and size of units will vary depending on the staging of the development and production activities). This will likely include: Development Jumbo Drills Explosives charge up units. Production and Exploration Drills Service vehicles. Underground Loaders Water cart. Underground Trucks Dozers Light vehicles. Rock breakers.
