PROJECT DESCRIPTION 3.1 THE BIODIVERSITY PROJECT As part of the WNP, OGNZL proposes to fund and facilitate the Waihi North Biodiversity Project. The objectives and details of the programme will be developed around the New Zealand government’s ‘Predator Free’ initiative and implemented in consultation with tangata whenua and other key stakeholders, however, will involve OGNZL providing a minimum of $8.4 million for predator control and habitat enhancement within an 18,870 ha area of the southern CFP (see Figure 18 below) over at minimum, a 10 year term. OGNZL have proposed the conditions contained in Table 2 below be imposed on any consent granted for the WNP as a means of locking in its obligations to fund and facilitate the Waihi North Biodiversity Project in this manner:
