Site-specific Assessments of Environmental Effects

B-2 – Area 2 - Assessment of Environmental Effects 39 Substance Hazard Classification Post 2021 Proposed maximum volume Storage Location Oxygen gas Oxidising gas Category 1 60 m3 Up to ten cylinders in a segregated storage area in the workshop in the SFA Acetylene gas Flammable gas Category 1A, Chemically unstable gas Category A 20 m3 Up to four cylinders in a segregated storage area at the workshop in the SFA Oils, greases Not classified as hazardous 8,000 L Workshop stores 3.7 CLOSURE AND REHABILITATION All surface infrastructure will be removed from the Willows SFA, and footprint areas rehabilitated to a state suitable for dry stock farming. Stockpiled topsoil will be used in rehabilitation. The portal will be securely sealed, and the immediate entrance area backfilled with benign rock prior to placement of topsoil and establishment of pasture. All stored rock will be returned underground during the mining operation. The area of the former WRS will be rehabilitated with topsoil and planting to return the area to its original landform and a suitable state for dry stock farming. Riparian areas will be re-established and fenced to prevent stock access. Diversions will remain in their revised location in perpetuity. At the ventilation shaft, all fencing and vent/egress surface infrastructure (vent stacks) will be removed via helicopter. The Vent Shaft (Vent Shaft 1) will be backfilled from the surface. It is proposed that dairying will cease on purchase of the land by OGNZL and will not recommence during the company’s tenure, with the entire farm converted to dry stock grazing. On conclusion of mining the rehabilitated areas will be returned to a condition suitable for dry stock grazing. This may include some of the proposed buildings being repurposed for farming use.
